Tracks 10 and 11 were recorded live from one of Kage Bunshin's very early shows at some basement somewhere in New Jersey.Yes, the first live track is a Naruto cover and the lyrics are completely in Japanese. The tracks are raw as hell, but built excitement for what was on the horizon. Tracks 5-9 are from the "Second Demo" and feature the entire band in a garage with one microphone in the middle of the room.
Welcome to the KB family Franco, JB, Paris, Prince John (and later Snarf). Somehow, from there, Keith and Christian hooked up with some other musicians who felt starting a band would be an enjoyable use of their time.
#KAGE BUNSHIN MOVIE#
They drew inspiration from a shared love of anime, Japanese horror films, movie samples, breakdowns, screamo and metalcore. Kage Bunshin No Jutsu Lyrics: Kage Bunshin on yo bitch / Flexin got ice on my wrist / Comcast while you still have dish / Oxy in my drink it sizz / Purple. On the B side, tracks 1-4 are from the first demo, the Pitseleh recordings, and feature just Keith and Christian essentially fucking around and having fun. Nonetheless, the tracks are successful at preserving some memory of Keith and serve to document a band that never came close to accomplishing what could have been pretty special.Oh well. While they sounded significantly better (especially on CD/Mp3), they sounded pretty awful on lathe-cut vinyl. 10 years later, Paul revisited the tracks and remastered them to the best of his abilities. After his death, the remaining members of the band and their friends attempted to hastily finished the album themselves, recording the vocals and trying to mix the tracks, which though cathartic, ultimately resulted in a terrible sounding piece of shit.
Unfortunately, Keith passed away before this could happen. After recording began, it was clear that the band was in over their heads taking on this endeavor. As a result, KB started communicating with Will Killingsworth (of Orchid) to have him record their album at Dead Air Studios.
#KAGE BUNSHIN FULL#
While far from a great recording (from a sound quality standpoint), the release does a pretty nice job of showcasing the evolution of the band and the potential of what could have been.Ī Side Tracks 1-10: These songs were an unsuccessful attempt to record a full length themselves on Keith's computer. It's a complete collection of all of their shitty recorded material: 2 demos, 1 never finished demo of a full length, and 2 live tracks. So, this is the first and only official, non-bootleg, Kage Bunshin release. Silk Screened gatefold artwork, art prints, and booklet (included bonus Keith Martin Orzech 4 song, square-shaped 7")
